Semester 3 Storyboarding
In semester 3 I took a Storyboarding class. For those who don't know, in animation a storyboard is defined as a sequence of drawings, typically with some directions and dialogue, representing the shots planned for a movie or television production. It's kind of like a comic used to plan movies and TV.
To learn about the basics of storyboarding and to learn about cinematography we started with drawing storyboard thumbnails (quick/rough sketches) from an already existing movie and marking down the type of shot used.
The first movie we used was the intro scene of The Good, The Bad And The Ugly.
You can watch the scene this is based on at the 3:02-5:44 mark of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oCdwxmeM2A
The second movie we used was Finding Nemo.
You can watch the scene this is based on at the 1:12 – 2:25 mark of this video:

The third assignment was to take a script we were given and to draw a rough storyboard based on it. The short story was called His or Hen's.
